Stronger Together: A Message from City Year UK
City Year UK unequivocally condemns the killing of #GeorgeFloyd, an unarmed black man who was killed by the police in the USA. This horrific violence, along with the deaths of #AhmaudArbery, #BreonnaTaylor, #TamirRice, and so many others, are repeated and troubling reminders of the deep and systemic racism that threatens the black community around the world every day.
We join with the voices that are demanding justice and we stand with members of our global City Year community who are personally impacted by this continued violence, including the young people we support in schools who experience the traumatic impacts of racial inequality.
We will seek to find strength and healing as we work to advance educational equity and to develop and support leaders who will create a more just and equitable future for all of us.
